#1818, nice quiet pressing, no surface noise. Three more words

Certainely too late but, did you manage to exchange your defective copy? Mine have a backnoise along the side, and a little on B side. LP2 play great.

I just noticed my replacement discs have different matrix info than my defective copy. There isn't "BE 42664-01 A1/B1/C1/D1" etched on any of the sides. Guessing that means the replacements weren't pressed at Optimal then?
Yananoc
are they still sending out replacements for this? i'm afraid i have a defective copy..
Hono
My copy has significant background surface noise. Unfortunately defective
I love Mercedes
0093 sounds fantastic. There's a bit of distortion on a few tracks but I'm fairly certain it was there in the CD when I bought it many years ago. It was incredibly static-y when I cut open the shrink wrap, but I think after being on a shelf for a year and change that's expected. I think after a washing, this should sound amazing and I'm super glad I got one with both disks sounding great!

I recently got my re-presses from Sigur Ros, sound issues seem to be fixed. Stand up move by them, sounds like they went through a lot of work to rectify the situation. Now, beware of people reselling the bad copies...

I have #272-no surface noise at all for me... This is a musical masterpiece, so glad I was able to get the clear limited.

Just picked up #271 brand new almost a full year later!

I got #3244Some light background noise but not a so bad pressing ; (too much) More dynamic compression compared with the 2009 fat cat release ; dead wax engraved infos are the same as on the XLLP611 release, but with " krunk10lp " added. It seems that they re-used the XL master to make the new Krunk stampers. Why not. My first pressing of AB (straight foetus) is similar : it came with a DMM pressing inside, re-used for the 2001 US release. So if you already have the XL 2015 version, expect the same sound on clear wax, something between light smoked glass and light-pee-yellow vinyl (widely used nowadays), housed in thin cardboard.

Hey I got #1111!
FailCrew
#0246 sounds great. No issues. Dead quiet silent parts, no pops.

Anyone who is having trouble should email [email protected] . There seems to be a known issue with a bad stamper than effects some, not all of the records. It looks like they are going to be sending out replacement discs if yours is affected.
Akinonris
Hate to say I'm having the same issue. Constant fuzz/hiss on this reissue. Tried different needles, different tables. Its very obviously the pressing. thought the music might overpower the noise, eventually. but nope. that hiss sticks out constantly. I wrote on the band's FB page to hopefully get a response of how to address the issue.

My copy sounds pretty beautiful on all sides. I don't think the number has anything to do with it. I believe there was a bad stamper and some copies are defective. My copy is completely "clear" with no black mixed in. Some people were saying they had some black streaks mixed in theirs. Maybe the mixed ones were from the bad stamper? All theories. If you got a defective one, return it. Get that crap outta circulation, so another person doesn't end up screwed someday.
Dordred
is the clear 180gm? or the black vinyl reissue 180g?
Blueshaper
Clear is 140g.
Small Black
Absolutely awful release, A side sounds alright but B, C, and D have terrible surface noise. D in particular is squashed as hell and practically unlistenable.
Doriel
#2503 - Right channel sounds brutal on both side B and C.
Buzatus
3358 here. Side A is the worst sounding pressing of anything I have in my entire collection. Right channel sounds brutal. It's un-listen-able.Edit: I had my LPs replaced twice. First replacement was the same defective pressing, and they replaced mine a second time from the new stampers. Replacement vinyl sounds fantastic! While I waited for my replacements, I found copy 0797 in a different store, and it sounds incredible. I've done a shootout between the 1st and 2nd pressings and there is no difference that I can tell. Since I lucked into a perfect original, I'm actually happy I ended up with a defective copy and now have both. If your copy sounds bad, definitey reach out to Sigur - they were amazing in how they handled this release. It sounds incredible.

I just picked up a copy from a local store. Side B sounds fine! Sound is fuller, not as thin, especially in the vocals. Parts with high volume seem less distorted also. Surface noise-wise, it's fairly clean. A huge improvement from my copy of 1st pressing, which has frequent clicks and pops. Some sides needed to be cleaned a lot to sound good. The packaging is pretty static-y. I could feel my hair rise when I took out the discs. I wouldn't keep them in the paper sleeves. Dynamic range also seem greater than the CD. I cranked it up thinking the pressing was made quiet, then the louder parts got really loud. I love it.
Anayalore
Not sure what happened to the 2 previous posters' copies - but I got mine in this afternoon and it sounds great. 0 surface noise across all 4 sides. Silent parts are dead quiet. Excellent listen the whole way through. My one and only qualm is I wish the center labels were clearer about which side is which, nearly impossible to tell, even in the etchings.
Runemane
Does B1 of anyone else's copy have unforgivable surface noise?
TheFresh
I have the same issue with the first half of B1.
Beabandis
That's exactly where mine is.
Alister
Yup, mostly only on the first half of the first track. It's annoying.

Out of curiosity, where did you get this version?

I have the same problem with my copy
